The San Antonio Botanical Garden, located close to downtown, encompasses 38 acres of colorful seasonal floral displays, native plants and exotic specimens from around the world. Highlights of the San Antonio Botanical Garden include several formal gardens, the Lucile Halsell Conservatory, Kumamoto En (an authentic Japanese Garden) and the Texas Native Trail. This trail encompasses three distinct pathways of extensive native collections representing the Hill Country, East Texas Pineywoods and South Texas Plains. If you’re looking for information and suggestions on backyard design and low water plants, check out the landscape examples along WaterSaver Lane and WaterSaver Garden. The Lucile Halsell Conservatory is a futuristic 91,000 square foot glass complex featuring diverse world climates surrounding an aquatic garden courtyard.
